It's been a good long while since the craft I was cursing was knitting. Right? It's been all sewing and quilting and other nonsense for quite a bit.
BUT!
I think I have to make this scarf. It's purty! I wanna make it! Don't you wanna make it? Say yes! Hooray!
The sun is shining. It's hot as hell outside. And I am ready to knit a scarf.
Let's do this thing!
Oh! P.S. I just drove past that knitting store, and it is officially closed for business. I would love to know what happened and/or what the last straw was. Maybe they fell asleep and the snobbery they'd been smoking sparked some yarn, which then led to the whole place self-combusting. I bet that's it. Yeah. I'm going with that. Self-snobbed combustion it was!

Oh, yes, that one has been in my queue for awhile. And I will tell you this, the yarn is amazing for scarves. I don't know about socks, but I just made a different scarf with it, and it was a dream to work with yielding beautiful results.
I would hate to admit that I'm feeling some 'schadenfreude' regarding the snobby yarnshop closing. Bu-bye!
Beautiful scarf! What color are you contemplating?
Greetings from San Miguel de Allende!

I just heard about the closing of "that store" yesterday at a knit together. One of the knitters had been to the sale. She was told their rent was too high so they're looking for a new location, not going out of business. We then discussed how if you sell every last thing in the store and don't yet have a new location lined up, it's purely semantics to say you're not actually going out of bidness.
I'm knitting that scarf right now (like, up until the moment I started typing this comment) in koigu kpm. It's a really fun pattern because even though it is a 24 row repeat, it's super easy to memorize, but interesting enough to keep it...interesting. I love this pattern.
That's a beautiful scarf, I haven't ever looked at it closely until now. I wish I were cool enough to look good in that scarf.
Heh, snob-induced combustion. You get a lot of friction with those upturned noses, you know.
Oh yes! You should knit it!!
Oh, yea, that scarf is awesome. Can't wait to see yours!
You'll be ahead with your fall wardrobe if you knit that scarf :) Good riddance to the mean folks at the yarn store.
Oh yeah. I really like that scarf. And I bet it would be lightweight enough even for our West Coast climate.
And I'm so glad to hear "that yarn store" got what it deserved.
That scarf is great - I printed out the pattern - which is a start!
Love the scarf. Planning to knit it too... someday...
As far as th e yarn store, all I'm gonna say is 'Karma'.
This is a shameless plug for the blog I started, um, five minutes ago. You and I have had some exchanges about my boatbuilding adventures, and I thought you might be into reading about the boat restoration I'm doing this summer, which promises to be interspersed with some quilting.

Also, hi, how's the knitting going?
