Oh, it's true. I am currently gathering all the goods I'll need to make it through the long, cold winter here in Los Angeles. The yarn above and the book below are just the beginning of my preparedness kit assembly.
Let me help you out with the funny here: We don't have winter in Los Angeles. Also? I think those yarns together would make a lovely Chevron scarf.
I like living in a fantasy world where seasons change and Chevron scarves get completed. Don't mind me if I just stay here for a bit. I quite like it.

I love those colors together. You have a knack for picking out wonderful duets.
So??? How was the Yarn Harlot event?
ONe of my favorite color combos! Ooh... a new book for me to order!
AUGH! My book is not here yet! Where are you, book?
Yes! Rose Quartz is my favourite STR yarn - I have 4 hanks in each of the various weights... You can say I like to be prepared! :)
I've also ordered that book after you alerted me to it in the comments. Thank you.
winter is winter - stockpile away! :)
I too live in a pretty little fantasy land where snow happens more than once every thirty years. This explains the five or six very pretty but totally useless sweaters in my closets and drawers.
ahh, in a perfect world the nuclear winter will be the delight of knitters, and quilters, every where...there was much rejoiceing.
I have a fantasy world too! Everyone should have one, don't you think?
LOL At least we do get a bit of winter here in Georgia. although our temps are probably about like other folks' fall. And I grew up in Florida so I know just what you mean about nonexistent winters. But that yarn and that book are definite keepers for the non-winter blues :)
My gosh, I was wearing a sweater last night. It was chilly in L.A. Well ok, just for a few minutes until I warmed up.
As for that book, I have it on my Amazon wish list and in my busy-ness forgot about ordering it. Time to go spend some money.
I am so excited to see those yarns in full Chevron glory! And, we do so have winter in LA - It's just very very subtle. Though, I do admit I didn't know just how subtle 'til I lived in Philly for 4 years.
I want a winter like yours! maybe we could trade?
